I am adamantly opposed to the proposal for an interim combined sewer to support development at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard (Ontario Place). This proposal goes against decades of work by the City of Toronto to separate and replace combined sewers in order to prevent discharge of raw sewage into Lake Ontario. It also breaks international agreements signed in order to protect water quality and habitat in the Great Lakes. Sewage effluent risks human, animal and plant health, and tourism. It threatens the stability of Lake Ontario's ecosystem in a time of severe biodiversity loss. Significantly, the province has not held consultations about this work to allow for comprehensive public comment.

This proposal is clearly intended for the benefit private sector initiatives,. It does benefit the public interest.
