I am opposed to the proposal…

I am opposed to the proposal which goes against decades of work by the city of Toronto to separate and replace combined sewers across the city to prevent the dumping or RAW SEWAGE in Lake Ontario. It also is a slap in the face to international agreements to protect the waters and habitats of Lake Ontario as part of the Great Lakes. This “effluent” also risks human health in terms of water quality at beaches, for fishing, and the international appeal of our lake as an attraction. There hasn’t been any public consultations on this major program. This proposal to benefit a private and foreign company at the cost of public health, and public enjoyment of Toronto beaches and fishing also endangers local ecosystems at a time of severe biodiversity loss. Please deny this permit.
