I am commenting on the proposal for an interim combined sewer to support development at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard (Ontario Place). I am opposed to the proposal which goes against decades of work by the City of Toronto to separate and replace combined sewers across the city to prevent the discharge of raw sewage into Lake Ontario. It also flies in the face of international agreements to protect water quality and habitat in the Great Lakes. This effluent also risks human health in terms of water quality at beaches, fishing and the quality of the lake as an attraction for Canadian and international visitors. The province has also not held any consultations about this work with the general public.

This proposal to benefit private sector initiatives, is not in the public interest and threatens the stability of the lake ecosystem in a time of severe biodiversity loss. Please deny this permit.

I have been submitting concerns directly to the premier and my MPP, neither of whom respond to any personally or publicly. Not only do I not appreciate the negative impact on the environment for this project, people and wildlife, but I don't appreciate the manner in which actions are made. I feel that the government is being irresponsible, disrespectful, not listening, not being accountable or transparent, among others. I don't understand why this project is in such a rush unless for profit or other gain that is not in the best eye of the public. The traffic concerns, among others noted in studies and the audit from the governor general are not being addressed and now this sewage issue. I do not support this project. We have a right to a clean and safe environment. The environment gives us all life, mental health, protects us from flooding etc which is worse because of climate change. Wildlife had a right to the habitat. Please deny this project and do the right thing for the environment. Please support proper environmental assessment.

I also would've liked to have heard about this consultation sooner. I follow this development and only heard about this consultation today, the due date. If it was not advertised publicly then this is not meaningful or property consultation. Thank you for listening
