I am submitting comments regarding the proposed interim combined sewer for the Ontario Place redevelopment at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard. This plan contradicts decades of City of Toronto efforts to separate and replace combined sewers across the city, which were implemented to prevent raw sewage from entering Lake Ontario. It also undermines international agreements aimed at protecting water quality and habitats in the Great Lakes.

This proposal poses risks to human health through degraded water quality at beaches, impacts on fishing activities, and reduced appeal of Lake Ontario as a recreational destination for both Canadian and international visitors. Furthermore, the province has failed to engage in public consultations regarding this project.

While claiming to benefit private sector initiatives, this proposal clearly prioritizes corporate interests over public welfare and threatens the stability of Lake Ontario's ecosystem during a time of severe biodiversity loss. I strongly urge denial of this permit application.
