I am very concerned with the irresponsible decision to move a raw sewage outflow to the west channel at Ontario Place. This is water that is used regularly by the public to swim, paddle and boat. The CNE uses this area for special events that I attend every year. If there is sewage, raw human waste, being deposited here there will be E. coli outbreaks and people hospitalized. This water is very shallow due to sediment build up and there is relatively low flow. This CSO will be an environmental disaster and health hazard. CSOs should be eliminated from our city, no amount of toxic water should be allowed to entire our fresh lakes, and they most certainly should not be dumping this waste right by a public beach and into water used for recreational activity. I sincerely hope private interests do not take precedent over the environment and public health, and that this project does not go through.
