I am commenting in opposition to the proposal for an interim combined sewer to support development at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard (Ontario Place). I am strongly opposed to this proposal. The proposal will cause harm to 63 fish species in Lake Ontario, including the American Eel which is identified as an Endangered Species. The proposal will also risk human health in regards to water quality and will be disastrous to all water users. The cost of this work ($70 million) is not at all warranted for a Mega Spa that will not benefit the local communities, but rather cost taxpayers millions of dollars and has already led to the destruction of 1,000 trees and habitats for 100 species of birds and other animals. This proposal has no benefit to public interest, and threatens public access to water that we can swim, drink and fish in. Please deny this permit.
