Please do not continue with Bill 5. Dissolving critical environmental organizations such as the endangered species act, recovery plans, habitat protection, as well as scientific field research is not acceptable. We have already begun to experience the negative effects of environmental destruction
The forests, wetlands, fields, and in between not only provide self-sustaining habitats but also uphold our current infrastructure to prevent flooding, improve air quality, and maintain pests from human spaces. Please remember this Bill 5 is not what Ontario needs for their future as we have begun to rebuild a relationship with the Indigenous people who do not agree with this Bill. Developers will ultimately sabotage and endanger humans by destroying habitats for the sake of profit over addressing the housing and rental crisis. Please do not go forward with Bill 5. Thank you.
