STOP Bill 5. It is utterly disastrous and short-sighted for the Ford government to put forward a bill that weakens environmental protection at a time when we are racing towards a climate crisis. I am angry and astounded that the Ford government would choose to butcher the protected land and species of our beautiful province, rather than building out our clean energy sector within the bounds of existing regulations. This ruinous Bill will allow the destruction of habitats and environmentally necessary biomes for generations to come.

This Bill will also give the Ford government more unchecked power—allowing them to make unilateral decisions while ignoring provincial and municipal laws, expert recommendations, and gut both environmental and citizen protections.

I OPPOSE this bill whole heartedly. I’m am so deeply disappointed.
