As a taxpayer, it is absolutely unfathomable to believe that cancelling the White PInes project makes any sense at all from an environmental, political or economic perspective. As a constituent, I long for a politician who won't be swayed by special interest groups and who will stand up for the common good even if it isn't politically expedient in the short term. Prince Edward County has traditionnally voted Conservative, but another multi million dollar boondoggle financed by the taxpayers for a handful of votes (sounds familiar??) may spell the end of Conservative dominance in this area for good.
