The reason protection for species at risk is so complex is because it is hard to know the full consequences if we neglect to account for them. In recent years where climate change has led to harm to both our rich agricultural industry and our health in the form of unpredictable weather changes and wildfires, do we really want to gamble with our native flora and fauna during these dangerous times? It's irresponsible, it's greedy, it's short-sighted... the list goes on. If development is left unchecked like this it will end up destroying Ontario.
