This bill is a horrible idea. These processes are in place for a reason, and this is highly visible, prime public land. It’s a travesty that the government has bulldozed the Ontario Place island. There are plenty of other great locations for a privately-run spa in the area, that would not have created this blight on our waterfront and the destruction of highly-trafficked and beloved parkland. There are parts of the islands that are already paved and look terrible, parts of the Exhibition grounds that are underutilizes and have no environmental value. This is literally the worst place for this, and the government is wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayers money to subsidize a poorly run foreign corporation. Public input and environmental protection are essential. This is approaching the scale of the sale of the 407 in terms of government waste
