Special economic zones present a dangerous and deliberate opportunity for government corruption and collusion with industry. The proposed legislation is not only brazenly destructive of the environment and undemocratic in its disregard for the public and expert opinion, it is also openly racist in its disregard for Indigenous culture and land rights.
