I strongly oppose Bill 5 and the creation of special economic zones. These zones are tantamount to industry shortcuts around laws and regulations designed to preserve that which the people of Ontario treasure. It is very concerning that a small group of uninformed and biased politicians and staffers are to be given the right to completely circumvent existing laws protecting the environment and endangered species. The potential for abuse of such powers is very high and we will all pay an irreversible cost.
