Greensville - DGEC
There must be no burning of non recylable waste in kilns of any kind. To do so would send a message to producers of this waste to just send it to be burned. Burning this waste is unacceptable to communities who depend on clean air. In our community we have already opposed this and the company in question has cancelled their project due to opposition. It was being proposed to burn this waste to save on fuel costs. We are strongly opposed to this proposed burning of this type of waste. The answer to this is to legislate that the producers must produce waste than can be reused or recycled. Burning is never the answer and will lead to more producers to ignore and burning will emit toxic compounds into the air, water and land. Burning must be prohibited.
