Hamilton should develop this site into 100% affordable units/rent geared to income housing. Hamilton's unhoused population has significantly increased over the past several years and the city keeps removing these humans from various locations across the city. Most recently, unhoused Hamiltonians were forcibly removed by the police from city hall. These human beings have nowhere to go and the city is doing nothing to help. By creating more AFFORDABLE housing, we can help our residents. Building for profit housing will not help Hamiltonians, it will help already rich property investors and people forced out of Toronto by the rising cost of living. We need to take care of our Hamilton community and this site is a perfect location to develop affordable housing.
