Hamilton is in deserate need…

Hamilton is in deserate need of affordable housing. There are approximately 1500 unhoused people in Hamilton not counting the homeless who for whatever reason will not register themselves. The shelters are overflowing and there are hundreds living in tents and in dark corners of parks, under bridges, parking lots and literally on streets and alleyways. Thus contributes to spiking poor mental health including psychosis. Poor mental health leads to spiking drug and alcohol consumption. Drug and alcohol abuse spike criminal behaviour. If we can provide stable and safe housing we can prevent hundreds of children and adolescents from turning to criminal activities just to be able to survive. We don't need more studies or research--we need affordable housing.
