All taking of fresh water must be scrutinized carefully regardless of what was previously negotiated. Those negotiations may not be reasonable in this time of extreme changes. Fresh water is not limitless. It is a precious resource that must be protected. An easier streamlining for its taking may not be in the best interest of Ontarians and the environment. It would only be in the best interests of those who will profit from its taking.
