Hey Folks,

I'm a resident of Hamilton that supports the work of community housing partner Indwell.

I've looked at the Jamesville site for the last 8 years as one of our city's greatest failures. The fact that we have this existing land, ready to build homes for the people who need it most, but we cannot proceed because of a noise concern is truly saddening. To see this site, vacant, for the reference years in which housing became so painfully unaffordable, is heartbreaking.

I'm sure the proposed residents of this future affordable project are currently living in spaces that are unsuitable. It seems foolish to think that they would prefer to live in a patch of trees beside the train tracks over the opportunity to live in a building within earshot of the train tracks.
