I object the proposed changes because of serious concerns related to their potential negative impact on the natural environment (disturbance and further fragmentation of the habitats of sensitive and endangered species of birds and aquatic life) and most definite negative impact on the quality of life of residents in the area: noise pollution, air pollution, increased heavy vehicle traffic, worsening traffic congestion. The proposed changes raise serious drinking water quality concerns (potential leaching of contaminants from the backfill into private wells, the nearby bodies of water (Green Lake and the headwaters of Credit River), grave concerns over the unknown origin of the fill and absence of processes and mechanisms in place to guarantee that no toxic waste and other problematic material ends up being mixed in the “construction soil” etc.
