I am requesting that the Ontario Government, while they are considering plans to encourage tourism, please include in your plans habitat conservation for Piping Plovers to ensure they are do not lose their nesting area. It was a big deal when they returned to Wasaga and it would be a shame to lose them again. Their survival needs a science-based management plan. Where they are nesting, please don't use the mechanical raking machines. Please prohibit dune alteration. Please protect nests with buffer zones to keep people and pets out, and consider natural predator mitigations.

Speaking as a summer resident in the area, I hope you can recognize and respect that the attractiveness of Allenwood Beach area is because the beaches are natural. I hope you will preserve the dunes (which are a part of the life cycle of sandy beaches) and ask visitors to keep out of them.

You would get more tourists if you ensure that the water quality is clean. We have noticed in recent years a high algae load and what we suspect is overflow from Wasaga sanitary sewer. Hope you can address that too.
