I am writing in support of the proposed amendment to recognize rock climbing as a permitted use of Devil’s Glen. This proposal will give more Ontarians, many of whom are young, more opportunity to experience and appreciate nature.

The rock climbing community is deeply committed to the ethos of Leave No Trace. We understand the importance of preserving our natural spaces for future generations and actively practice minimal impact techniques. This includes packing out all trash, staying on established trails, and minimizing our presence in sensitive ecosystems. By officially recognizing climbing, you are welcoming a community that already holds a strong environmental ethic.
