I am against the appeal of ESA 2007, and the implementation of SCA 2025, as well as Bill 5 as a whole. I am against the proposed change to only protect 169 species, all 271 species listed in SARO need to keep their status. I am also against the other changes that threaten species and the environment. There needs to be proper provincial protections for all previously listed endangered, species at risk, threatened, and special concern species. If anything there should be more protections than before, not less. Developments and permit seekers should face proper scrutiny at the provincial and federal level, I am against the appeal of ESA 2007 and the proposal of SCA 2025. At a time of great instability we need to be protecting the environment, its ecosystems and the wildlife whose habitats lie within it, not just for the value that they provide to us as they work in tandem with each other (air and water purification, flood control, pollination and food supply, mental health, etc.) but for their inherent value as well.
