As an Ontarian, growing up I felt such pride in our provinces conservation efforts. Living near the greenbelt has fostered a tight connection between myself and the local wildlife and ecosystems. Now being an adult, and seeing this proposed act, I’m disgusted and disappointed. No good will come from the removal the “endangered” title rightly given to these species, all it will do is decrease their already low numbers even further. I want to live in an Ontario that seeks to protect its local wildlife rather than putting them at risk. The fact that this act exists at all is a massive disappointment.
