I have been supportive of most of the Ford government’s actions however I am not supportive of this proposal. It is foolish and short sighted. Water management is localized for a reason. The issues and knowledge related to proper management rest in local communities. I am not confident that centralized agencies can handle water safety, compliance, and flood management issues more efficiently.

Perhaps back office functions could be centralized, leaving front line work locally based.

This is not something like school boards or health care, which have similar requirements across the province.
