I have concerns that this consolidation will not be as efficient as proposed. Amalgamations tend to alienate the smaller centres in the consolidated area. The larger centres in a consolidated area will receive more focus and therefore more funding. This could lead to less overall conservation. Additionally, I feel like alarm bells are going off with this proposal. Consider that flood control could be diminished which could endanger lives and land alike.
