This amalgamation makes sense and I am in support. There are many small conservation authorities that have minimal resources and staffing who rely on borrowing and using resources from others. Some CAs are as small as 10-30 staff. Beyond some of your large ones, it just makes no sense to have a CA of 25 staff beside a CA of 10 staff with each having their own CAOs and directors in such a small organization. There is a lot of waste in this and inefficiency when this could be one general manager, finance team, and more people with boots on the ground. Some of these CAs can’t even afford an HR person or proper IT security. It will be difficult to start but better in the long run.
