The differences between north and south-specifically in Ontario- have been both wonderful and a bone of contention. Living in Northern Ontario, we have adapted to all that nature brings us, whereas in the south, government and other funding sources just alter the circumstances to suit the population. Please do not even consider taking away our autonomy with respect to the environment that we live in. Our local conservation authority has been doing a tremendous job for decades, they are dedicated, knowledgeable and in no way require any form of consolidation in order to improve efficiency. The results of their efforts are visible all around us and truly, we do not need or want any southern influence interfering with a plan that works well. The land above the great lakes is vastly different from the land south of the great lakes- protecting those respective environments is also vastly different and should not be trusted to a melting pot.
