This proposal is totally unacceptable!
Each of the conservation authorities have supported the vital overall ecological functions in their respective areas of Ontario. If ANY of this is eroded (and I use that word intentionally), the already stressed ecological features will be seriously compromised!
Every one of the millions of the ecological interactions are connected in one way or other, especially with temporal aspects of climate change. IF (WHEN) one ecological interaction is damaged, then others will follow. Sometimes this is subtly expressed so that when it is noticed it's far to late to remediate successfuly.
This proposal demonstrates the overwhelming ignorance of the policy makers. All forms of "development" result in a clash with the immense number of natural interactions for which all of us are unaware, if only because of their subtle complexities.
Hurricane Hazel was an excellent teacher of our collective arrogant ignorance. Did we not learn anything?!?
