I oppose the amalgamation of the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority with authorities in southern Ontario. Our conservation authority works well as is. Why fix something that is not broken? The Lakehead is 16 hours from southern Ontario and our area is not similar to those communities we are to be combined with in the new authority. Our floodway system is unique. We need to keep our local control. I am very disappointed in the government for proposing this change.
P.S. - this is not a “Regional” Consolidation.
