I am very concerned about the proposed merging of conservation authorities. This is taking several steps backwards, making it more challenging for conservation authorities to address local watershed issues. Our watersheds and wild places are precious for Ontarian’s well being and their protection should be a priority. This is yet another ploy to defund conservation initiatives and make wild land vulnerable to exploitation and abuse. This decision is not founded in science and has no place in our province.
