The current TOC plan appears to have a density of 2800 people per hectare, double what Oakville already allows. This would make it the densest area on the planet. Furthermore, in an area that is already the busiest intersection in Oakville, there would be years of noise, construction and obstruction.
Oakville knows and wants to develop midtown, to provide the housing that is needed for responsible, moderate growth. It has a very good, detailed plan made by the people who know and care about the character and needs of the town. We need family housing. Who would buy these tiny condos shooting up into the sky? If this MZO is put in place, the developer has the right to waive any amenities needed.
Schools are not even mentioned. Let Oakville's excellent plan be adopted. Don't go the way of Mimico!
