I would like to submit my comment opposing the proposed changes to the Conservation Authorities in Ontario. The seven regional Conservation Authorities would not provide the kind of local focus that watersheds, municipalities, and diverse populations need. As an avid volunteer with the Hamilton Conservation Authority and donor to the Hamilton Conservation Foundation, I want the work that I do to stay local and make a local impact. Further, the proposed merger would waste immeasurable time, funds, and resources when the current structure does not need to be revised. Please reconsider this motion to merge, and keep watersheds healthy and thriving as they are.
