As a northern resident, I dont see how combining my local conservation authority with others 10+ hours away would increase my quality of life or the effectiveness of said conservation authority. Why would sensitive watershed management ever be amalgamated to such a grand scale? I assume this would allow some downsizing to staff numbers for conservation authorities. Is the loss of knowledge as a result being considered? Are the savings from doing this worth it in the long run?

I personally believe in the current system. Having a CA made of of local individuals who understand the watersheds in which they manage is beneficial. Would it not cost the province more money to have to provide flood relief when the inevitable confusion and mismanagement of such a change results in a worse management and prevention system?

I do not trust that things will improve with this change and I do not agree with the reasoning behind it.
