I am a resident of Stoney Creek. I strongly oppose the merger of the Hamilton Conservation Authority with other conservation authorities. Our members of the Hamilton Conservation Authority know local needs best. A Provincial Conservation Agency will be laden with pro-development provincial appointees. They will only serve the Ford government which promotes urban boundary expansion in Hamilton, endangers the Green Belt and generally furthers the interests of developers over the interests of citizens of Hamilton. Consolidation means greater provincial control which, under the current government, means more environmental destruction.
