The proposition for consolidation is not an evidence based decision.

There is no evidence that less Conservation Authoritiee will reduce permitting wait times. In fact consolidating leaves more questions than answers more chances for disappointment then support and a starin on an already stressed system.

What Conservation Authorities need is funding. Local level funding is likely to be lost when municipalities feel they aren't getting the representation they deserve, a cost that is bound to happen if this consolidation goes through.

Bigger organizations aren't faster. Bigger organizations are not better at stopping things from slipping through the cracks. Bigger organizations with "centralized power" will not be more effective than the systems that are already in place.

The ideals being preached are efficiency but nothing about this merge will lead to efficiency. It is calling on organizations who are already doing the best they can with limited resources, which they manage very well to ensure the best possible results for the people relying on them, to do something that actively will harm the areas they serve.

No balance, no efficiency, that is what will result from this change.
