I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. I also feel it is very harmful for the environment, communities, and ecosystems if any changes were to be made and we should keep things the way they are because they are working. We can risk losing any more natural land especially with the ongoing climate crisis. I worked part time grounds maintenance at a conservation area over the summer that has partaken in invasive species removal and tree planting around the park, and we were very focused on garbage removal. Having different, combined ownership could lead to the loss of this, as activities could become less personalized to the specific area.
