It is my understanding that :
- Amalgamation will not speed up development approvals. It may have the opposite effect as existing workflows will be disrupted
- CA development review and permit timelines are not holding back growth in the northeast, that's a problem with labour shortages and high materials costs
-There is no efficiency to be had by merging the four northeastern CAs
- All the new tools and technology the Province is speaking of can be effectively rolled out to the existing CA network without amalgamation
- The northeast CAs stand stronger in collaboration than if they were merged into one
