Centralization only works to reduce services and protection of these conservation areas. Ontarians deserve better. A regional office will not have the place-based expertise needed to care for these areas. Local boards are currently made up of municipal representatives who are accountable to the communities they serve. As we know with the current Ford Conservatives, the accountability by this government is abysmal. Why would we ever support our government taking on another responsibility via regional offices? We don't want a blanket approach to decision making and we DON'T WANT A CONCENTRATION OF POWER BY THIS GOVERNMENT.
