This is another instance where centralization is a bad idea. My local council voted against the proposed amalgamation of conservation areas and I do too. Our local conservation authority know the area and have been doing a good job. They coordinate with other areas quite nicely. The system is not broken. Leave it alone. I am not impressed with the Ontario government's record on the environment, and if this proposal goes through, it is another failing mark on their environmental portfolio.
