I feel that decreasing the number of conversations authorities doesn't take into account the wide variety of environmental factors that affect each individual area of the province.
At a time when the environment needs stronger protections our provincial government seems determined to permanently undermine, defund, and destabilize system that have been working perfectly fine for years DESPITE the constant drain of funds and resources the province imposes.
Ontario's growth and the health and safety of its residents require strong environmental protections, which in turn require dedicated and well-funded teams who can focus on the individual needs of each of the current conversation areas. Increasing the size of each zone will not bring any benefits to the people of Ontario, only cause more problems as already strapped conservation authorities need to take on greater responsibility for areas they are unfamiliar with, which will cause greater delays, and other issues as procedures/plans which effective for one location under the new boundaries may not apply to a different location within the same new boundary.
