The merge local Conservation Authorities (CAs) into seven larger regional bodies and create a central Ontario is determental to local environments. Conservation areas advocate and educate environmental stewardship and protection by creating "super" conservation authorities the Provincial government will be weakening our local environments protection and needs of specific communities. As our population rises, our local CA beat address the needs of local ecosytems, watersheds and unique aspects of certain natural hazards. How can a super CA do this. Nit very well. We can already look to other real world examples of how larger super authorities fail communities.

I am leaving this comment in the hopes that our elected officials will consider the needs our existing 36 CA across Ontario excell at. I can't see a larger super CA being intimate and fully aware of the needs and knowledge of the land. Instead of underfunded the important work of our local CA's fund them to continue taking care of our natural world. How will local advocacy be drowned out?
Maybe politicians should consider what might happen if their ridings became amalgamated and how they might meet the needs more efficiently over a larger area?
