I strongly urge the Ontario government NOT to consolidate the Conservation Authorities in Northern Ontario into one Mega authority. It is vital for the local people to have a voice and some local autonomy. We understand our needs and issues best, and don't want that involvement curtailed by having an arms length body making decisions that don't reflect the local insight properly.
Big Government may be "more efficient" but it is essentially undemocratic in this instance.
If you want to campaign on this issue next time around, that is your choice; however, just as with local school board, the government should not be taking the easy way. Warts and all, we need to respect the local involvement.
Please. Do not consolidate the Conservation authorities.
