I do not believe the proposed changes to Conservation Authorities in Ontario are positive in nature or representative of any improvement to the current organization of Conservation Authorities.
1) Proposed conservation regions are excessively large.
2) Conservative Authorities should not be politicised; they should remain unbiased and outside the objective interference of our provincial government.
3) Certain watersheds are being divided within multiple regions which does not make sense for active management.
4) Our current system is strong and well developed.
it is bad enough that our Endangered Species Act has been obliterated in order to streamline development and take accountability away from government. The proposed changes to Conservation Authorities further endangers the fragile ecosystems that they are designed to protect.
I am disgusted that our provincial government acts without conscience for the welfare of our natural environment. Without a strong and healthy environment, we cannot sustain a healthy living environment for our own population.
