I do not believe the proposed CA amalgamation is a good idea. I have watched it with school boards, school transportation, Health Units and municipal government and overall, believe it doesn't work. No amalgamation seems to result in reduced staffing and salaries are higher because they have to pay more for the increased work-load and expertise.

In my current employment, I work closely with CA staff and rely on their expertise for their local areas. The farmers I work with rely on their local CA for Letters of Support, permits, site visits, etc. These will be harder to get when they are looking for support from people who don't work anywhere close to them and the in-depth knowledge of the specific watersheds will eventually be lost.
