Deficiency and economics cannot be the only criteria for decision-making. I hardly object to the amalgamation of conservation authorities. Local authorities will be able to respond faster in the event of an emergency, will be able to provide more focussed preventative measures. I hope that local voices have some impact to stop this plan.
