Rondeau cottagers, their guests and their families make significant contributions to the economy and sustainability of the communities within the Chatham Kent region. The Ministry plans to limit the extension of the Rondeau cottage leases by denying the ability to transfer, pass down or sell the cottage leases. These limitations will result in the eventual removal of the almost three hundred cottages within Rondeau park, as well as the people who bring business to the region. As a community, Chatham Kent has come to appreciate the monetary and cultural additions the cottagers provide and it would be a significant detriment to the area if the current Ministry's proposal is carried forward.
