I strongly oppose how Bill 108 would also allow the minister to suspend protections for newly listed species for up to three years if certain conditions are met, and to send listing recommendations back to the independent scientific panel for reconsideration with no set timelines for delivery of a second opinion. This amendment as it is not in keeping with scientific integrity and due process in representing the interests of Ontario's endangered species. The proposed changes favour developers and not future generations of Ontarians.
