Given that the planet is now entering the 6th Great Extinction of life, Ontario should be strengthening species protection not weakening it. Why can't our leaders show some leadership?

When we voted to get rid of Kathleen Wynn we were not given to understand that the environmental protection would be weakened under the new government. There's an unsettling feeling of bait & switch. Green sentiments are increasing everywhere so the Tories should be worried they will get an anti-environment taint that will haunt them next election.

Also the proposed changes are in conflict with the existing provincial policy Statement of Environmental Values. Please don't reduce these noble statements to mere lip service.
