Dear MPPs
Like so many Ontarians, I have watched in horror as our provincial government 'for the people' has delivered so many cuts to services 'for the people,' while cutting taxes for businesses and making decisions that result in unnecessary expenditures. I have lost faith because of so many broken promises.
However, I am appalled to see Bill 108, which does not have a single clause that will create greater housing affordability. It may well create more housing, and put money in the pockets of developers at the expense of parks, day care centres, social housing, habitat preservation for endangered species, but it has no potential to create more housing affordability. The title of Bill 108 is a lie, and its content will create even fewer services 'for the people.' And its clauses relating to development charges suggest that this is not a government 'for the people' in any way, shape or form.
Withdraw Bill 108. NOW!
