I support the proposal to extend the moratorium but would like to add that it should be for four years instead of nine months. Also why is the water taking permit $500 per million litres of water under Ontario Regulation 176/17. This charge is very small in comparison to the volume of ground water extracted. The additional charge of $3.71 per million litres of water for industrial and commercial water use (under Ontario Regulation 450/07) is also very small. Both of these costs need to be increased significantly. There is a difference between facilities being competitive and outright undercharged.
